Beethoven’s Wigfeaturing Richard Perlmutter

Silver Winds Flute (Dance of the Reed Flutes from The Nutcracker Suite)

Silver Winds
By Richard Perlmutter

Fleetingly they flitter flutter by
Flying in a flurry far up in the sky
Silver winds are blowing
Twirling and tiptoeing
Pretty ballerinas pirouetting way up high
Wistfully I watch them whirling there
Whistling like the willows swaying in the air
Silver winds are singing
Reveling and ringing
Sweet enticing sirens serenading
They are calling me
Oh I’d set my sail today
If I could fly away
On silver winds
Daringly I’m dancing on the breeze
Darting, dipping dizzy high above the trees
Suddenly I’m soaring
Endlessly exploring
Lucky as a lark I’m seeing everything she sees
Blissfully bewitched by their sweet song
Balancing I’m breathless swirling swept along
Silver winds are playing
I wish they were staying
Blow silver winds
