Beethoven’s Wigfeaturing Richard Perlmutter

My Little Chicken

“Chopsticks” (The Celebrated Chop Waltz)
By Euphemia Allen (aka Arthur de Lulli)

My little chicken is peck, peck, peck, pecking
Whatever she’s pecking she’s wreck, wreck, wreck, wrecking
We’re endlessly checking we’re checking her pecking
But she’s keeps on pecking she peck peck peck pecks

We don’t what she’s pecking for
She pecks and pecks then pecks some more
It’s probably what we would do
If we were chickens too

Cluck, cluck… (chicken clucking throughout this section)

My chicken pecks at scarecrows
At old clothes
And my toes
Whichever way the wind blows
She follows
To peck, peck peck peck

My little chicken is peck, peck, peck, pecking
Whatever she’s pecking she’s wreck, wreck, wreck, wrecking
But she’s just a chicken and so what the heck
Forever my chicken will peck peck peck peck!
